Our team members take pride in being well-rounded. While we have an unusual affinity for spreadsheets, we also enjoy other, less nerdy things.

Joe Manganelli
Founder

Joe began his career in corporate roles at financial services behemoths like Goldman Sachs, but he yearned for the opportunity to help build businesses from the ground up. In 2017, he founded Calculate with the goal of applying his wealth of expertise to growth companies. Despite the fancy title, Joe spends the majority of his time in the trenches, working closely with clients to solve their problems, structure deals, and help them thrive.

Fun Fact: Joe’s “90s Vibes” Spotify playlist is flawless if he does say so himself.

Jillian Byrnes, CPA
Partner, People & Culture

Jillian spent a decade in public accounting before joining Joe as Calculate's first employee and Head of Accounting & Tax. While she enjoyed the numbers, spreadsheets, and solving tough tax problems, people have always been her passion. Today, Jillian is focused on that passion by ensuring that the people always remain the heart of Calculate and building a culture that's second to none.

Fun Fact: Jillian can often be found lounging with her adorable doggy children, Abby and Sully.

Alison Cuzzolino
Partner, Consumer

Alison spent a decade at Goldman Sachs running numbers, building budgets, and analyzing scenarios before moving to smaller shops into Finance Director roles. At Calculate, she’s setting strategic visions and financial plans compliant with both GAAP & IFRS with our consumer clients as they design products, build teams, acquire market share.

Fun Fact: Alison has lived and worked all over the world, but she’d say London is her favorite.

Lucy Wynkoop, CPA
Director, Agencies

Lucy has accounting in her veins. She started her career as an auditor with Deloitte then moved to the startup space by working with VCs and growing companies to cover the numbers side of things. Now Lucy is leading agencies and consultancies make better decisions while scaling their financial function.

Fun Fact: Lucy is a donut fanatic. She’s had more varieties than anyone we know and even plans family trips to try new ones.

Kaley Pate, CPA
Director, Tax

Kaley spent over 12 years with EY in various tax roles where she came across practically everything. From oil rigs in Oklahoma to PE firms in Chicago to multi-national individuals, there’s not much she hasn’t seen. Now she’s leading Calculate’s tax function to stay compliant and strategize on structures to minimize our client’s tax footprints.

Fun Fact: Kaley spends a lot of time with supporting her son’s hockey - maybe even too much time if you ask her.

Jana Katcher
Director, Consumer

Jana has spent over 12 years as a CFO and corporate strategist. At Calculate she is a trusted advisor for her Consumer clients. Jana’s ability to both tactically and operationally manage change is just a glimpse at her innovative and strategic thinking. 

Fun Fact: Jana is obsessed with pilates, so much so that she is nearing enough instructional pilates hours to go for a teaching certification.

Samantha Golaski, CPA
Associate Director, Consumer

Samantha jumpstarted her career at PwC, where she supported clients of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 500 firms. She enjoys applying her technical accounting background in both GAAP & IFRS to the unique business models of her consumer and tech clients at Calculate.

Fun Fact: Samantha is an avid reader who likes words as much as she likes numbers.

Nick Vanslembrouck, CPA
Associate Director, Tech

Nick spent his career at PwC in the private company services group. There he developed comprehensive audit plans and lead audit procedures. Our Tech clients are sure to be compliant with Nick as their consultant.

Fun Fact: Nick is a huge sports fan and grew up playing hockey.

Hazmira Bektic
Associate Director, Funds

Hazmira is an experienced accountant for funds and investors. After more than half a decade at SS&C, “Haz” is teaming up with our funds and mangers to make sure operations are running smoothly and those LP reports are in the black.

Fun Fact: Haz is a coffee nut. She can’t get enough of the stuff!

Lindsey Tapping
Associate Director, Recruiting

Lindsey spent a decade in host of recruiting, people, and strategy roles at PwC. Here at Calculate she’s spearheading our work to attract, vet, and onboarding the absolute best talent we can.

Fun Fact: Lindsey is still the proud holder of her high school’s pole vault record.

Andy Garcia
Associate Director, Services

Andy began his career in the grind of investment banking at Barclays working on financial institutions in Corporate M&A deals. After, he got into the startup scene as the director of finance for a business that 4x’d while he was there. At Calculate Andy acts as the VP of Finance for agencies and consultancies.

Fun Fact: Andy loves to ride the waves and gets out surfing whenever he can.

Jason Tracy, CPA
Associate Director, Tax

Jason has spent his career in tax, primarily at EY prior to Calculate. He brings expertise across a variety of industries and entity types. From Oil & Gas pass-throughs to service corporations to investment funds, there is not much Jason hasn’t seen.

Fun Fact: On weekends Jason can be found racing the dirt tracks of central Oklahoma.  

Anthony Berini
Associate Director, Services

Anthony’s background prior to Calculate is across roles at various startups. Combining his finance skills with understanding company cultures, the challenges of scaling, and the nuances of management, he’s outperforming with our Services clients. 

Fun Fact: Anthony is an avid “Jeeper”, he can usually be found in his Wrangler giving out ‘jeep waves’ to everyone he passes.

Erin Casey, CPA
Associate Director, Services

Erin’s competitive drive led her to intern for the NFL accounting department. She spent the next 5 years at Deloitte where she perfected her audit skills and dabbled in mergers and acquisitions. Erin’s service-focused clients won’t need a hail mary with her on the team.

Fun Fact: Erin is a universal donor and gives blood every chance she gets. 

Brynn Secor, CPA
Associate Director, Consumer

Brynn spent over 11 years at PwC in their private company services group where she built a reputation for delivering quality to her clients. Here at Calculate she is helping her Consumer clients make strategic decisions to scale their business. 

Fun Fact: Brynn’s hobby is “catching” birds on her bird watching app and adding them to her "life list".

Arman Islam, CPA
Sr. Associate, Services

Arman started his career at KPMG where he was exposed to a variety of roles - from auditing the Fortune 500 to diligencing cross-border deals. Today Arman is working with agencies and service businesses to gain better insights from their accounting and financials

Fun Fact: Arman has a knack for catching food thrown from long distances.

Doha Harriz
Sr. Associate, Services

Doha’s international work experience gives her a unique perspective to advise her Services clients. Doha is known here at Calculate for her excellent documentation skills and attention to detail. Her month-end closes are always tied up. 

Fun Fact: Doha loves the outdoors, especially walks and hikes.

Steven Virost, CPA
Sr. Associate, Consumer

Steven kicked off his career at EY in their assurance practice working with public and private clients. He spent a few years in industry where he dove into financial analytics. His Consumer clients benefit from his organization, process oriented and strategic mindset. 

Fun Fact: Steven is an avid fan of The Office. His favorite episode is “Dinner Party”, and his favorite character is Creed Bratton!

Brooke Broadhead, CPA
Sr. Associate, Consumer

Brooke is a Tax master who is ready to dive into full cycle accounting with her Consumer clients. Brooke sharpened her skills at Dixon Hughes and brings not only technical capabilities but also teaching skills having spent a year and a half teaching English to children in Japan. 

Fun Fact: Brooke is proud of her sparing track record. Don't challenge her to a match.

Karly Sherwood
Sr. Associate, Consumer

Karly’s undergrad degree is in international studies and French. She comes to Calculate with an MBA in Finance and experience in operations. Her experience gives that “je ne sais quoi“ to the Consumer team. 

Fun Fact: Karly loves horses and is an experienced equestrian who still loves rides today. 

Jack Carbone, CPA
Sr. Associate, Consumer

Jack kickstarted his career auditing at Deloitte before restarting his career as a high school business teacher. Eager to get back to client work, Jack found Calculate where he spends his days educating consumer startups on their best financial trajectory.

Fun Fact: Jack is your go to for any advice on the best ramen restaurants around.

Lara Kunnapas
Sr. Associate, Consumer

Lara began her career at KPMG ingrained in the complex world of real estate tax. At Calculate, she’s reingrained herself into into a new space with CPG brands focusing on their accounting and financial operations.

Fun Fact: Lara loves to travel and spent an extended time in South America backpacking. Be sure to ask her about the trip!

Jarome McKenzie
Sr. Associate, Consumer

After his days as a college baseball player, Jarome slid into accounting in RSM’s outsourced accounting function. Seeking more impact to his work, Jarome now partners with startup consumer brands around their financial operations and financial statements.

Fun Fact: A native Kiwi, Jarome came to the states for college and never left.

Katie O’Brien
Sr. Associate, Tech

Katie perfected her accounting skills at KPMG gaining experience in both audit and deals. Katie’s go-getter personality and drive to figure out any problem contributes to, not only making Calculate’s culture better, but her Tech clients, too.

Fun Fact: Katie loves skincare and is a major product junkie

Bella Dzulkarnain
Associate, Consumer

Bella’s a graduate of The Ohio State University and has spent her career in a variety of accounting and operations roles. At Calculate, she keeps our clients running super smooth with tight and accurate financial operations.

Fun Fact: Bella is an avid photographer and has more cameras than she knows what to do with.

Alissa Lashley
Associate, Services

Alissa takes attention to detail to an entirely new level - it might just be all her years of studying dance that upskilled her here. Alissa’s dynamic background as a senior accountant and finance associate gave her the tools to analytically think through any problem that might arise. She will not stop until her Services clients are taken care of. 

Fun Fact: Alissa loves dance. She's studied over 8 different techniques and attended Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.

Mohamed Diagne
Associate, Funds

Mohamed is a funds guy. After a master’s in accounting he moved to SS&C where he was a fund accountant to a variety of asset managers and funds. These days he’s running the operations for Calculate’s suite of VC, PE and family office clients.

Fun Fact: Mohamed loves his music and boasts being the biggest Spotify user at Calculate.

Ashley Jones
Associate, Consumer

Ashley is both strategic and business savvy when it comes to accounts payable and receivable. She brings organization and cohesion to her Consumer clients. 

Fun Fact: Ashley enjoys keeping up with all things Harry Potter

Kaylee Large
Services Specialist

Kaylee has a decade of expertise in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. She is your dedicated and results-driven powerhouse serving her clients by elevating their financial journey. Kaylee brings her best to Calculate's clients by ensuring a exceptional experience.

Fun Fact: Kaylee collects sewing machines and has 9 already
